Frequently asked questions.

SpyPlates is an offline collection game and travel companion. Spot license plates from different U.S. states, log the states you've seen, and build a collection of all 50 — unlocking achievements, Atlas Intelligence files, and Highway Legends along the way.
No. SpyPlates never records, stores, or transmits plate numbers. It only logs which state you choose to collect. There is no plate database, and nothing identifying about any vehicle is captured. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The current version is fully manual — you tap to log a state. There's no automatic plate reading and no ALPR. A future optional feature may offer on-device assistance to help confirm a state; it would store nothing and upload nothing.
Because SpyPlates stores everything privately on your device, your collection lives in your app data and device backups that you control. If you restored a device or reinstalled the app and progress is missing, email [email protected] and we'll help you troubleshoot.
Head to the Atlas Field Testing section above. When the public TestFlight beta is open, you'll be able to join directly. In the meantime, email [email protected] to request early access.
SpyPlates is free to download and play the core collection game, and is built for iPhone on recent versions of iOS. It works fully offline. Any future premium collections will always be optional.
